Diaspora University Town (DUT) is inviting Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to grow their revenue with Ksh 25 billion from the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC), advanced through 34 Banks/SACCOs. The money will come from KMRC to finance 3,500 townhouses developed at DUT. Dan Kamau the DUT project director, shows business owners the KMRC June 2026 financial statement that shows Ksh 16 billion available as cash and cash equivalents. He says KMRC is tailored similarly to Fannie Mae, a 1938 corporation, and will progressively have money to finance Kenyans to own residential houses.

Dan says a partnering business will help bring the Ksh 25 billion to Taita Taveta from KMRC. The partnering business's primary goal will be to increase sales revenue. For example a business currently achieving Ksh 6 million in sales revenue a year can double sales revenue to Ksh 12 million in the first year and surpass the Ksh 50 million sales revenue in 4 years. Thereafter, the business should aspire to reach Ksh 1 billion while working jointly with Diaspora University to advance job creation through planned town settlements for about 1 million of the Kenyans aged 20 years and below.

A business owner desiring to partner must first sign a DUT Townhouse Investment and Development Agreement (THIDA) and input the capital specified in the THIDA. The partnering business owner is required to develop a minimum of two units and sell at least one unit on completion to one of those who shall take up the 15,000 jobs created at DUT. The business owner on investing will then sign an MSME agreement to supply products or services from the budgets below, which will be part of the Ksh 25 billion.

THIDA CAPITAL (CLICK TO READ THIDA)
A business owner can establish the THIDA capital through a bank loan. To explain why business owners should take out bank loans to grow their revenue through the DUT plan, Dan references a report on the 30 largest banks globally by total assets. In the report two banks in Canada that are number 23 and 25 in the world have a combined banking assets of $3.2 trillion. The total banking assets of the Kenya banks as per CBK banking supervisory report 2026 are Ksh 8.5 trillion (About $65 billion). Loan advances are the biggest component of banking assets. The comparison shows taht taking loans is necessary for growing business revenue.

FUTURE GROWTH
The DUT system that the partnering businesses will join aims to expand each business's revenue past the Ksh 1 billion mark. The DUT system's 20-year goal is to create jobs for 1 million of Kenya's 25 million people. The DUT system will develop 500,000 housing units alongside the one million job creation plan.

Dan says the Ksh 10 billion products and services budget above will grow to Ksh 1 trillion. The global GDP of $128 trillion shows the potential of growth for businesses and entrepreneurs. Those who join the DUT system will have an opportunity to achieve Ksh 1 billion sales revenue a year as Kenya's GDP grows from the current $150 billion toward the $2 trillion mark.

For every Kenyan family to achieve good housing over 20 million formal jobs need to be created and 7 million housing units developed in the next 10 years (by 2035), as Kenya's population grows to 65 million. The DUT system and its developers will create as many jobs as possible and develop as many houses as possible. For example a developer who sells a DUT townhouse unit and achieves Ksh 1.3 million will have the opportunity to build more housing units and grow their wealth using the DUT job creation and housing development system.
