Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) reports show Diaspora Remittances from 2004 to October 2024 total to $37,607,718, approximately Ksh 4 trillion. Where are these dollars? Is there any project or company that Diaspora Remittances have achieved? Dan Kamau, who is formerly of Worcester, MA in the USA, speaking to Diaspora Kenyans during a Saturday Zoom meeting said the Diaspora Kenyans through the Diaspora University Town (DUT) project are on track to develop the first planned town in over 60 years.

There are three resources that produce the goods, services and the environment that human beings consume every day. The first resource of production is the land that is given by God. The second resource is the human resource that is broken into physical and intellectual. The third resource is the money. Money is printed and supplied by the Central Bank and produced from the productivity of the land and human resources.

Dan said that DUT has the land resource of 1,500 acres. This land will be applied to produce a town with 15,000 jobs, 25,000 residents, a 5,000 student’s university and about 300 MSMEs open.

Another 4,000 acres will be made productive by the Ndara B Community to produce building materials and farming products. The products produced will be part of building and sustaining Kenyans.

Talking on the human resource, Dan said that there are over 10 million Kenyans, mainly Gen Z, who would be happy to apply their human resource productively to meet their needs of food, housing, healthcare, clean water, clean environment, children needs and other needs. He said the DUT plan will through 20,000 jobs make about 100 million hours of human resource productive.

He said the Diaspora Kenyans human resource of intellect has made it possible to achieve the project. He thanked all those who have become part of DUT for making the decision to invest their money and intellectual human resources.

He invited Diaspora Kenyans to tap into their intellectual resource and money resources and invest in Kenya at DUT through becoming townhouse developers and opening an MSME. An example of a Diaspora Kenyan who has tapped their intellectual resource and put in hundreds of hours is Prof. Architect David Ogoli of Riverside, CA. He has designed the Daktari Biotechnology Ltd medicine and vaccine plant.

Discussing the money resource, Dan said that Diaspora Kenyans everyday make money because the land and human resources are made productive through GDP growth system in the countries abroad. He said the Diaspora remittance money should be applied to make Kenya land and human resource productive and grow Kenya GDP.

He said that the DUT townhouses development plan is for making Diaspora money productive to achieve a return. The plan constitutes development of 3,500 townhouses that will provide housing for workers of the university, medical hospital, Town and over 300 MSMEs open. This plan will achieve housing, clean water and a clean environment for the workers and their families as they work and settle in the town.

He gave other investments that are taking in Diaspora money as DUT Credit Ltd, a financial institution that is started through shares investment. The company plan is to become a bank. There is also Daktari Biotechnology Ltd for medicine and vaccines and opening any of the 300 MSMEs.

Once the land resource, human resource and Diaspora remittances/money resource are made productive, those applying these resources productively will benefit with wealth; grow Kenya GDP similar to how GDP of developed countries grew; and, benefit generation Z and future generations with economic, social and environmental rights in Kenya.
