The Diaspora University Medical Hospital Level 5/6 is for meeting the medical and healthcare needs of Diaspora University students, Diaspora University Town (DUT) residents, Kenyans and visitors to Kenya. About 50% of Diaspora Kenyans living in developed countries work in the healthcare sector. Many work in the different departments in medical hospitals. The Diaspora Kenyans are working to achieve a medical hospital that is equivalent to the hospitals in the developed world.

The hospital is one of the projects of the DUT plan. The hospital revenue plan is already embedded in the development budgets of the university and town. The goal is to achieve a non-profit level 5/6 hospital with about 50,000 square meters of medical space and a yearly budget of Ksh 4 billion as the town grows to 25,000 residents and the university to 5,000 students.
One requirement of a level 6 hospital is land of 20 acres. The hospital will be part of the Diaspora University plan which will be implemented alongside the Diaspora University that is allocated 200 acres.

Another requirement of a level 6 is to be affiliated with a medical school. Diaspora Kenyans doctors led by Dr. Phillip Mwalali of North Carolina are also looking to start the Diaspora University Medical School and the hospital treatment plans.
RN's Bui Thuo of California, Susan Mutua of Florida, Nelly Kangethe of Baltimore, MD and others are working on the Diaspora University School of Nursing and the Hospital nursing plans.
