The election of President Donald Trump and changes in the U.S aid programs is inspiring Kenyans to develop Kenya. Prof. Mutisya is back in Kenya fully inspired to develop DUT and Kenya. He is calling upon Diaspora Kenyans living in the U.S, Europe and other parts of the World to be inspired and seize this moment to invest and develop Kenya. As he walks in the Streets of Nairobi he says, “I’m putting in cash. I’ll put in over 2,000 hours this year in Kenya Development. We have to create jobs for the young men and women here in Kenya.”

Prof. Mutisya first travelled to the U.S in 1979. He spent 14 months in the State of Wyoming. He would return back to Kenya and spend a few years before returning back to the U.S in 1983. He joined the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA for his Master’s degree. Six years later he completed his doctorate degree in 1989. He relocated to Raleigh, NC where he worked in diverse universities until 2024 when he retired. From 1988 to 2024 the U.S economy grew from $5.3 trillion in 1988 to $29 trillion in 2024.

In 2015, Prof. Mutisya joined other Diaspora Kenyans who were creating plans and systems for growing Kenya GDP. Kenya GDP is currently at $110 billion and can grow to $2 trillion by 2075 as millions of new jobs are created in Kenya and new town settlements developed.

The first project that the Diaspora Kenyans are working on is the Diaspora University Town (DUT) project that will grow Kenya GDP by about Ksh 20 million as it creates 20,000 jobs. The project incorporates the establishment of a university, hospital, town and over 300 MSMEs.
Diaspora Kenyans are investing in the development of 3,500 townhouses and other residential properties. The Diaspora Kenyans are also investing to open MSMEs.

Diaspora Kenyans are also starting plans that will lead to projects of jobs creation started all over the country as Diaspora Kenyans partner with communities. Professor Mutisya is leading the achievement of Diaspora University.
Diaspora University will thereafter progress the jobs creation. In about 10 years’ time Prof. Mutisya envisions that there will be over 20,000 jobs created in his home county of Machakos through the work he is doing today.

To Diaspora Kenyans he says, "This is our time to create jobs in Kenya. This is our time to make Kenya great. This is our time to invest and develop Kenya."
