Diaspora University Town (DUT) is one of the 6 major urban settlement development projects in Kenya. The others are Konza in Machakos County, Northlands City in Kiambu County, Tatu City in Kiambu County, Mwale Medical & Technology City in Kakamega County, and Vipingo in Kilifi County. DUT is progressing with plans to create 20,000 jobs through a university town development spanning 1,500 acres and an Ndara B development plan for industries and farming spanning 4,000 acres.

The results to be achieved by the plans are: a well-planned town with 3,778 properties for business and residential use, with 25,000 residents settled; a university that grows to 5,000 students and has a level 5/6 hospital; and about 330 MSMEs & Organisations, 300 in the DUT Plan and 30 in the Ndara B Plan.

The following are six reasons why Voi residents should join DUT.

1. Becoming a Founder of a University

Voi residents have the opportunity to become founders of a University. In 1865, in Worcester, MA, when residents were asked to become founders of a university, 230 responded and joined. WPI, 160 years later, has an operational budget of over $350 million (Ksh 43.75 billion). This budget employs over 1,000 faculty and staff. One of the greatest achievements a Voi resident can achieve is being listed as “Founder of Diaspora University.”

2. University Hospital Development

The second reason to join DUT is that, through the university's founding, the founders will also achieve a level 5/6 university hospital with all specialties. In our Constitution of Kenya, we wrote, “43. (1) Every person has the right— (a) to the highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to health care services, including reproductive health care.” Joining DUT means you're helping advance this healthcare right for yourself, your family, your community, and for Kenyans.

3. Develop a well-planned town.

Since Kenya attained independence, the development of well-planned towns and cities has not progressed. Voi residents who join DUT will join Diaspora Kenyans and the Ndara B Community in building the first well-planned new town since Kenya attained independence in 1963.

4. Sharing the Ksh 200 Billion New Wealth Created

One joins Diaspora University Town (DUT) through investing in townhouse development and other investments. This means the investment one makes will have a return. The DUT plan will achieve a new wealth of about Ksh 200 billion. This will comprise the valuation of 6,700 residential units and the 330 businesses operating in Diaspora University Town (DUT) and Ndara B Community lands. Persons in Voi who join DUT will have the opportunity to grow their wealth.

5.       20,000 Jobs Creation and Ksh 20 Billion GDP growth

DUT is progressing to create 20,000 jobs. The Voi residents who join DUT will be joining to create these jobs when using the GDP approach that will achieve Ksh 20 billion in new GDP. DUT project uses systems-of-systems job creation and GDP growth that have increased U.S. GDP from $57 billion to $30 trillion and Singapore's per capita income to $90,000.

6.       Opening MSME or Organization

Voi residents who have opened businesses or organizations have an opportunity to expand intoDUT. The DUT system will achieve new revenue for the companies. DUT MSME grow system borrows heavily from the Sanford University and Silicon Valley approaches, as well as the McDonald's 75-year approach, which has built a business with 41,822 restaurants in 120 countries and is reported to have achieved a net profit of $8.6 billion (Over Ksh 1 trillion). With the University's support, one can join DUT and expand their business not only within DUT but across Kenya, Africa, and the World.
