H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, along with Prof. Phillip Mutisya from Raleigh, NC, and other Kenyan diaspora members, held a discussion at the KM Command Center in Karen, Nairobi. Their conversation focused on the role of Kenyans in the Diaspora in creating jobs for those in Kenya. During the meeting, Prof. Mutisya introduced the Diaspora University Town (DUT) to the former Vice President of Kenya. He explained that Diaspora Kenyans and the Ndara B Community in Taita Taveta County are developing a university and town to create 20,000 jobs.

Prof. Mutisya informed Kalonzo that by developing sustainable towns and creating jobs, Kenyans will be able to achieve their environmental, economic, and social rights. The professor mentioned that Kenyans in the diaspora are eager to partner with communities and counties to create jobs. Those accompanying the Professor from the Diaspora indicated that they have started looking at the counties of Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni. Notably, the Governors of these three counties, along with the majority of the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), belong to the Wiper Party.

Kalonzo welcomed the role the Diaspora Kenyans are playing in investing in Kenya to create jobs. He said he will be part of the initiative and will work closely with Diaspora Kenyans so the job creation plans can be achieved. He said he will be visiting the Diaspora University Town to see how he can be of assistance in fast-tracking the jobs creation in Taita Taveta County.

The ongoing Diaspora University Town (DUT) development plan is a plan that is progressing to create 20,000 jobs in Taita Taveta County. The plan founders and developers are Diaspora Kenyans and Ndara B Community.
The DUT plan will achieve 15,000 jobs as a town is developed on 1,500 acres. The 15,000 jobs are as follows: 1000 Jobs, Diaspora University; 1,500 jobs, Diaspora University Hospital; 500 jobs, Diaspora University Town and 12,000 Jobs, 300 MSMEs that are set up in the town.

The other 5,000 jobs will be created in the Ndara B Community land of 4,000 acres. 3,000 jobs will be created as 15 industrial MSMEs for producing building materials are established. The other 2,000 jobs will be created as 14 farming MSMEs and One (1) Water MSME are established.
Through development plans, 20,000 jobs will be created, ensuring that every day, about 40,000 people in Kenya have their rights met as stated in the Constitution, specifically articles 42, 43, and 53.
