Diaspora University Town (DUT) is inviting about 1,000 of the one million government employees to participate in a wealth-creation opportunity through the DUT system and tailored banking products.

The DUT system was inspired by sustainable infrastructure and settlement development models in the U.S. The goal of the system is to create 15,000 jobs and develop 3,778 properties, while establishing a new university that will grow to 5,000 students and a town where 25,000 people will settle. Once this town and university are established, this new model will be applied to build new towns across Kenya and Africa.

The current DUT initiative offers an opportunity for 1,000 government employees to become Townhouse Developers through the DUT Townhouse Investment and Development Agreement (THIDA). This system is designed to simultaneously drive economic growth while securing essential constitutional rights, including housing, healthcare, clean water, and a clean environment.

The banking sector is today offering financial products that can be applied. For example, KCB Bank financial product​s applicable are:

Personal Unsecured Loan: “Get a check-off loan as a government employee, or a company that has an agreement with KCB Bank. The check-off loan of Kes 20,000 up to Kes 10 Million is repayable in up to 120 months (10 years), with monthly repayments remitted by your employer.”

For every Kenyan family to achieve good housing over 7 million units of housing are needed in the next 10 years or by 2035. The DUT system and the developers will achieve about 500,000​ units. For example a developer who sells their unit and achieves Ksh 1.3 million will have opportunity to build more units and grow their wealth.
