The 50 States in the U.S are classified as developed for each family can get water. Over 350 million persons in the U.S at any given day get a clean water supply of about 50 gallons per day (200 liters) per person. The water applied in toilets, showers, washing machines, kitchen sinks, gardens, cash wash and other faucets. The water is delivered to the houses and removed from house by pipes. Diaspora University Town (DUT) team welcomed James Wattman of General Industries Ltd in Nairobi as he presented the companies pipes.

Dan Kamau the Diaspora University Town Project Director welcomed James to the DUT site. Present was Lucy Michael who is working on the water supply plan from diverse sources that include: Voi River, Boreholes, Mughe Dam, Mwiza Springs and other sources talked to James on the water plan. The water plan is expected to take about 8 km of diverse pipes.

James also engaged Barnabas Mwadembo who is part of the Design-Build team planning the delivery of the buildings. They discussed the water and electrical pipes that will be applied in the townhouses and buildings. About 4,000 buildings will be erected in the first 5 years.

Alex Mwale who is working on the clean water and sewer plan discussed the pipes that will be applied to supply the water and remove the waste water through a sewer system. About 60km of clean water and sewer pipes will be applied in the DUT project infrastructure system.

James on his part said that their company can supply the project. He stated that the company is operating at 23% production and can increase production as needed. He presented the different pipe products as follows: uPVC pressure pipes, Drainage Pipes, Down Pipes, Waste Pipes, Electrical Conduit Pipes, PPR pipes, HDPE pipes and uPVC Screen & Casing Pipes. He also presented the diverse electrical fittings the company manufactures.

James further explained the different pipes in relation to the usage. He discussed the pipes applied in a house for hot water and cold water. Further discussion was on pipes application in transporting water from a tank to houses and in removing the waste water from houses to sewer plant.

Dan Kamau informed James that the current estimate is the DUT project will take up about Ksh 500 million of diverse pipes. Dan said that he is happy that the company produces in Kenya for production in Kenya will create jobs for Gen Z.
